Just like the saying goes, an apple a day keeps the doctor away- natural beauty routines are the best. You will never worry about so many chemical products that have dominated the beauty industry today.

It's definitely no secret that apples are a great source of nutrients but did you know most of what makes these fruits such a powerhouse for your health is actually in the peel?

Well, let’s explore some of the benefits of apple peels.

1. Smoothie Fiber
If you want to add more fiber to your diet, add some apple peels to your morning smoothie. The next time you make an apple pie or other meal involving organic apples, don’t toss out the peels; store them in a plastic Ziploc bag in the freezer.

2. Vitamins
Apple peels are packed with vitamins A and C. According to the University of Illinois, nearly half of an apple’s vitamin C content lies beneath its skin. Your body uses vitamin A to protect your vision and develop healthy linings in your eyes and other organs and in important processes such as cell division. Your body uses vitamin C to heal wounds and to build a strong immune system.

3. Antioxidants

According to Cornell University’s Chronicle Online, apple peels are especially rich in powerful phytochemicals like flavonoids and phenolic acids. These compounds work to help keep your cells clear of destructive molecules called free radicals. Free radicals attack and damage your cells and may contribute to the development of a wide range of diseases. Eating a diet rich in foods that contain generous amounts of antioxidants may help to protect you from dangerous health problems like cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

4. Amazing Apple Aroma
Forget those costly and often cloyingly scented plug-in air fresheners. Simmer a handful of apple peels on the stove to simulate the scent of fresh-baked apple pie. Just place the peels in a saucepan with water and add a cinnamon stick. It’s a good way to rid your house of pet and spicy food odors.

5. Ability to kill dangerous cancer cells
According to Cornell University’s Chronicle Online, university researchers have identified about a dozen compounds in apple peels called triterpenoids. Research suggests that triterpenoids may have the ability to kill dangerous cancer cells and protect your body against certain types of cancer, such as liver, colon and breast cancer.

Beans are seeds from the Fabaceae family, commonly known as the legume, pea, or bean family. They are an affordable source of protein, fiber, and vitamins that offer many health benefits.

They usually grow in pods, which are capsules with several beans inside. These pods or capsules develop from flowers. Other legumes include peas, peanuts, and lentils

In this article, learn about nine health benefits of beans, including getting more protein and reducing the risk of heart disease.

9 Different type of beans include:
  • lima beans
  • black beans
  • black-eyed peas
  • soybeans
  • kidney beans
  • garbanzo beans
  • navy beans
  • pinto beans
  • red beans

Health benefits of beans

Beans offer several health benefits, including:

1. Protein source

Adding beans to grains can turn an incomplete protein into a complete one.

Protein is a vital nutrient that plays a key role in virtually everything the body does. Beans are high in amino acids, the building blocks of protein.
Protein sources can be divided into two different categories: complete and incomplete. Animal products, soy, and quinoa are all complete proteins, which means they contain all nine amino acids.
Out of all the types of beans, only soybeans contain all nine amino acids. Incomplete proteins can be easily combined with nuts, seeds, dairy, or grains at a single meal or over various meals throughout the day to make complete proteins.

For example, a person can eat beans with rice or couscous. Even having black beans at lunch and then almonds or cheese later in the day can ensure people get complete proteins.

Beans make an excellent source of protein for vegetarians and vegans. They are also lower in calories and saturated fat than some other protein sources, such as dairy products.

2. Nutrient dense food

Beans contain several vital nutrients, including folate. Folate can help prevent neural tube defects in a fetus during pregnancy.
Dried beans contain nearly double the folate that canned beans contain, so it is better to cook them from their dried form. However, canned beans still contain more folate than many foods.

Not getting enough folate can cause several symptoms, including: weakness, fatigue, heart palpitations, loss of appetite, irritability.
Other important nutrients found in beans include: Zinc, Iron, Magnesium and fiber.

3. Antioxidant

Beans are rich in a type of antioxidant called polyphenols. Antioxidants fight the effects of free radicals, which are chemicals that affect a wide range of processes in the body, from physical aging to cancer and inflammation.

4. Better heart health

People who consume beans may be less likely to die of a heart attack, stroke, or other cardiovascular health problem.

A 2013 analysis of previous studies found a clear correlation between eating beans and a reduced risk of coronary heart disease.

Other research suggests that beans may lower cholesterol. High cholesterol is a risk factor for heart disease and heart attacks.

5. Reduced risk of cancer

Some studies have shown that beans act as antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. These effects could reduce the risk of cancer.
Research published in 2015 analyzed whether beans might have antioxidant properties that fight intestinal cancer. Black beans were shown to have the highest antioxidant activity.

A 2016 study also found that chemicals in Northeast China black beans could slow the growth of colorectal cancer by damaging cancer cells.

6. Diabetes and glucose metabolism

Beans may help stabilize blood glucose levels or even prevent diabetes. Beans are high in fiber, which can help lower blood glucose.

A 2015 study in mice found that a chemical found in soybean leaves could help the body maintain healthy glucose levels.

Soybeans also support the healthy functioning of pancreatic cells. The pancreas produces insulin, which regulates blood sugar.

7. Preventing fatty liver

Fatty liver is a metabolic disorder that occurs when fats accumulate in the liver.

Research published in 2016 found that adzuki beans improve the accumulation of fat in the liver of mice. This result suggests that these beans might preserve liver health and reduce the risk of fatty liver, although more studies in humans are needed.

8. Controlling appetite

The fiber and healthy starches in beans can help prevent food cravings. People may feel fuller after consuming beans, which may prevent overeating and even help with weight loss.

9. Improving gut health

Research has shown a variety of beans, especially black beans, enhance gut health by improving intestinal barrier function, and increasing the number of healthy bacteria. This may help prevent gut-associated diseases.

Over the years, I have compiled a list of simple things to do which have a big impact on my mental health. Sometimes, it is not the grand gestures which work. You do not need to quit your job, go on a silent meditation retreat or move countries to feel better (although those are all cool things to do.) Making the effort to look after yourself in subtle ways is so important. However rough you feel, however hard life is, try incorporating one of these each day. Most only take a few minutes and your mind will thank you for it.

1. Put a weekly telephone call to someone you care about in your calendar
We all know how good it feels to speak on the phone, but it is easy to lapse into only communicating through texts and messages. Make a plan to call someone – perhaps a childhood best friend or a relation who lives far away – once a week. You will both come away happier afterward.

2. Say no to a commitment which is draining your energy
Maybe it’s an extra shift at work, a volunteer role, a class or anything else. It’s not selfish to say no to something which is wearing you out. You’ll have more time and energy to focus on looking after yourself.

3. Get outside
Whatever the weather, find some green space to relax for a few minutes each day. This is proven to relieve stress , sharpen your thinking and generally boost your mood. Take your laptop out and work in the garden (which I am doing right down), go for a walk in the woods or take your lunch to a park.

4. Watch the stars
Try taking some time to look up at the sky each night. Just like getting outside, this has been shown to improve mental health by giving you a sense of connection to something larger than yourself.

5. Find your ‘snowball’
In BJ Miller’s incredible TED talk , he describes a nurse in a burn unit bringing him a snowball after he lost his limbs from being hit by lightning. The simple feeling of the snow melting in his palm was enough to inspire awe at the world. Find something small to make you feel a sense of appreciation for being alive. One of my recent ‘snowballs’ was when a pigeon perched on my hand for several minutes while in Venice. Some people might find that gross, but my bad mood completely lifted as I stroked the bird and fed him bread crumbs. The happiness lasted all day as I kept smiling at the memory. I might have been alone in a strange city, yet I had felt a brief sense of companionship with another living creature.

6. Read ‘Meditations’ by Marcus Aurelius
It will change your life forever.

7. Then, read ‘Letters from a Stoic’ by Seneca
Again, it will change everything. Learning about Stoicism has helped my mental health perhaps more than anything else.

8. Delete a social media account
Even if you feel like looking at cat pictures at 3 am makes you happier, study after study has highlighted the impact social media has on mental health. I said goodbye to mine earlier this year and it felt amazing. Give this a go and you will be amazed by how much clearer your mind is. No one will miss you, I promise and you will not want to go back to it.

9. Turn off notifications
They are stressful, even if you don’t realize it. Switch them off – no one needs alerting every time they get an email or text.
10. If you are on medication for mental health problems but it isn’t helping, ask your doctor the review it
So many people neglect to do this and it is vital. There are lots of options and even a change in dose can have an enormous impact on your well-being.

11. Delete apps off your phone
If you are not willing to delete your accounts altogether, at least take them off your phone. You can always access to them on your computer.

12. Decide on a regular bedtime
Chances are high you haven’t done this since you were about 6 years old. But having a regular bedtime can mean better sleep as your body adjusts. It will also create a rhythm to your day as you get used to switching off at a certain time.

13. Also, decide on a regular time to wake up
Forget the myth that waking up early is necessary. There is no difference in terms of success between early birds and night owls. You do not need to get up at 5 am to make the best use of your day. Our biological prime times are genetic (find out your chromotype here ) and forcing yourself to be awake at suboptimum times will make you miserable. Even, so a regular sleep schedule makes it much easier to structure your life.

14. Commit to 1 minute of meditation per day
Building a meditation habit can be tricky. So, try starting with just 60 seconds per day, then building it up over time. You can do anything for 1 minute and it will have a huge impact on your mental health. I recommend the Calm app for guided meditations and breathing exercises.

15. Write out your worst fears
Then write how you would handle them. I learned this technique called ‘fear-setting’ from Tim Ferris. Whenever my anxiety flares up, I use this to remind myself that even the worst case scenario is not that bad.

16. Track how you spend the day in 15-minute increments
Just set a timer and record what you are doing each time it goes off. How you spend your days is how you spend your life. Seeing exactly where all your time goes is a powerful exercise . Good mental health requires plenty of time for yourself and for self-care.

17. Make a list of the assumptions you have about yourself, others and life in general
Here are some from the list I recently made : I will never be successful without a degree, no one will pay me for my work, my partner will eventually desert me, I will never fully overcome my mental health problems, other people understand life better than I do. Perhaps you have similar assumptions. Looking at them written down starkly on a piece of paper can help to highlight which are harmful or plain untrue. Then you can be self-aware enough to tackle them.

18. Decide to stop speaking to a toxic person
There is no need to feel guilty. If someone makes you feel bad, stop associating with them . They do not deserve your company. Let them be bitter and gloomy on their own, without you to take it out on. This does not mean deserting a friend in a time of need, it means moving away from those who make your life miserable on purpose.

19. Make the choice to say goodbye to an addiction
Most people have at least one harmful addiction. Maybe it’s alcohol, smoking, junk food, whatever. Only you can decide to leave it behind and you can make that choice today. Addiction can seem like a viable way to handle mental health problems, yet they invariably worsen the problem.

20. Book a ticket for something a few months ahead – a concert, a film a weekend away or even a longer trip
Having something to look forward to is an ideal way to stay positive and avoid dwelling on the past. Whatever is happening right now, you have something exciting ahead.

21. Throw out your crap
A year ago, I realized that my overcrowded bedroom was exacerbating my anxiety. I took the plunge and decluttered 90% of my belongings, reducing everything down to just a few bags of stuff. The result? Much less stress and much more freedom . Chances are, you own far more stuff than you need. It takes up space, time and energy. A tidy living space will bring far more joy than owning excess stuff. Try throwing out one thing each day, or take the plunge and have a huge clear out. Donate, give away or sell the unwanted stuff. Someone else can make better use of it.

22. Look after your gut
No, seriously. Your gut plays a surprising role in your mental health. communicating with your brain and even producing serotonin. Try eating more fermented foods, drinking bone broth or taking a probiotic. As weird as it seems, the science is sound.

23. Practice negative visualization
This technique comes from Stoic philosophy. The idea is this; imagine that the worst has happened. Really picture the absolute worst which could happen to you. Your house burns down, someone sues you, the industry you work in collapses, your qualifications become null, you lose a limb, your family dies. Close your eyes and feel the pain for a few moments. Then, open your eyes and look at the world anew, knowing that none of it has happened. As grim as it sounds, it is a positive method of finding appreciation.

24. Move. An obvious point which still bears repeating
NOTHING helps me with depression more than exercise . Find the type and time which works for you. Don’t run on a treadmill for an hour if you know yoga would make you happier. Don’t force yourself to do team sports if you would be happier working out alone. Don’t feel like you have enough time for exercise? Intersperse 5-minute bursts throughout your day. Intervals are even more effective than lengthy stints and will help with energy levels. My personal favorite is 5-10 minutes of body weight exercises and stretches every hour or so. It makes a big difference if you spend most of your day hunched over a laptop.

25. Make a list of 3 things you are grateful for and 3 things you would like to improve each night

Gratitude is proven to have a big impact on your mental health. A friend and I used to do get in touch and do this before bed every night. Even on the worst days, we were forced to find something good to list. Funnily enough, there always were 3 good things however small; some sunshine, a nice coffee, petting a cat in the street, a book, a conversation.

26. Get uncomfortable
Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is a perfect way to overcome doubt and grow. Doing something which scares you might be counterintuitive, yet it is always worthwhile.
27. Stop trying to craft a perfect image of yourself
You are a person, not a brand . Live your life authentically, rather than striving to be something you are not.

Lionel Messi and Paul Pogba might not be involved for France and Argentina during the international break but they did have time for a deep conversation while having dinner in Dubai.

Not available for their respective nations during the two-week break in their domestic campaigns, both have travelled to the United Arab Emirates for a short holiday.
Pogba
Pogba missed Manchester United’s last game at Manchester City due to a thigh problem, while Messi has only played once for Barcelona since breaking his arm in mid-October .
The pair bumped into each other while at Salt Bae’s Turkish steak house and engaged in a lengthy discussion regarding a number of topics.

Reportedly, among them was Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, who Pogba claimed marked Messi out of their World Cup round of 16 clash in the summer.

Agent Mino Raiola made no secret of his desire to move his client away from Old Trafford after he was criticised by manager Jose Mourinho.

Defender Gerard Pique said he would welcome the arrival of the 25-year-old if he did indeed complete a move to the La Liga champions.

“We would be happy to have him here,” Pique said in August.

“I know little about what he is going through in Manchester and the relationship that exists [between Mourinho and Pogba].

“Pogba is a very good player, but a Manchester United player right now and we’ll see if something happens in the future.”

Allah (swt) made Taqwa (piety) the essence of what Islam called for and a key to the attainment of goodness and the triumph of Paradise. This term is therefore mentioned in the Quran in various contexts in which Taqwa is reflected as the basis of morality, worship, relations and transactions. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in its Shar’i definition: “The essence of Taqwa is to obey Allah out of belief, and in hope for His reward in His command and prohibitions; so, he does what Allah commands out of belief in the commander and believing His promise and leaves His forbidden acts out of belief in the one who forbid and in fear of His threat.”.

We had in the Messenger of Allah a good example and in his companions a good legacy, they were fasting, praying, performing Haj, fighting Jihad, and enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. They used to implement the whole command of Allah according to the disciplined Shari’ method. Allah (swt) says:  قُلْ هَذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّهِ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَمَآ أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ “Say: ‘This my way: I invite unto Allah― on evidence clear as the seeing with one’s eyes; I and whoever follows me. Glorified and Exalted be Allah! And I am not among those who associate partners with Allah!’” [Yusuf 12:108]

They were a few vulnerable people who were tortured and killed to turn them away from their religion, but they remained steadfast and were true to what they promised Allah. So, Allah conferred great favor upon them when the Prophet ﷺ established a state to protect the Muslims and guard their territory and carry the call of Islam abroad. This is the goodness that Muslims receive from the state’s application of the full law of Islam – including the establishment of the Hudud (legal punishments) – so that people are secured in their Deen, themselves, their minds, their honours, and their money.

The Khilafah State provided the Islamic environment and established an atmosphere of Iman and has elevated the individual to live in worshiping Allah Almighty and fearing Him as He should be feared. He is obeyed and not disobeyed, remembered and not forgotten, and is thanked and not denied. Taqwa became one of the characteristics of the society by applying the rulings of the Shariah in full, because the people, both governors and the governed, are observing Allah in secret and in public. And this was not limited to the month of Ramadan but was their tradition in Ramadan and all other days of the year.

We are recalling here some events that demonstrate Taqwa of the public, scholars and rulers: the first event is of a mother, who wanted her daughter to mix milk with water, and her daughter reminded her that Ameer Al-Mu’minin forbade it. She said: Where is Ameer Al-Mu’mineen? He does not see us. The daughter replied: If Omar cannot see us, the Lord of Omar sees us. Omar ibn al-Khattab when he heard that he married her to one of his sons. The second event is when Abdullah bin Dinar went out with Omar ibn al-Khattab (r.a) to Makkah, he said we rested somewhere in the journey and a shepherd descended from the mountain, and Omar said to him: O shepherd “Would you sell me this sheep?” he replied, “I am a Mamluk (slave) and it belongs to my master.”  Omar said, “If your master asks you, tell him that the wolf has eaten her.”  He said: “Where is Allah?” Then Omar (r.a) cried and he bought the slave from his master and freed him.

This demonstrates the importance of the state in raising the environment of Taqwa by rewarding the righteous and motivating them to increase the performance of good deeds and the abstention from evil and compete in the performance of Allah’s duties and leave his forbidden acts. Whereas today, it is difficult for Muslims to perform the simplest acts of worship, for they are prevented from praying and fasting and are fought for their Islamic manifestations in their homes. And they even imprison and kill all who have Taqwa to Allah and refused to bear false witness, steal, bribe, cheat or refrain from the Haram and the major sins…

And the third is the statement of Hasan al-Basri to Omar bin Hubairah – the Wali (governor) of Iraq – who said: “The right of Allah is more binding than the right of Ameer Al-Mu’mineen, and Allah Almighty has more right to be obeyed, and no obedience to a creature is due in what leads to disobey the Creator. Compare the book of Ameer Al-Mu’mineen with the Book of Allah Almighty; if it agrees with the Book of Allah then act upon it, and if you find it contrary to the Book of Allah; then throw it away.”

So, where are the scholars of the Sultans today from the advice and accountability of the rulers and governors? Where are their steadfastness from the temptations that are offered to them to buy their consciences? Where are they from his ﷺ saying:   «الْعُلَمُاءُ وَرَثَةُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ» “The Ulemah (scholars) are the heirs of the prophets”?

Where are they in tribulations and adversity while the people follow them and wait for their position to know the truth from others? Where are they from the words of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal to his uncle: “O uncle, if the scholar answers out of dissimulation, and the ignorant is ignorant, when will be the truth known?”

The fourth is the advice of our master Ali (r.a) to the governor of Egypt, Malik bin Harith Al-Ashtar, where he has ordered him to fear Allah, to prefer obedience to Him, and to follow what He has commanded in His Book (Qur’an) out of His obligator commands and Sunnah, and to help Allah the Glorified, with his heart, hand and tongue. The fifth example is Caliph al-Mustansir, may Allah have mercy on him, who was standing before his money and said: Will I live until I spend all of it? He constructed connections, hotels, and bridges in the roads from all sides, and he built in every locality of Baghdad a guesthouse for the poor, especially in the month of Ramadan.

However, the rulers today have sold the wealth of the Muslims and filled the vaults of their palaces, and then established themselves as rulers. They turned the unlawful (Haram) into Halal (lawful) and ruled by other than what Allah has revealed, controlling the livelihoods of the people and making their lives miserable and constricting them down to indulge them in the pursuit of living and subjected them to the brunt of need and deprivation.

This is Taqwa; correctness in the Aqeedah, discipline and integrity in the behaviour, and this is the product of the state’s spreading of the legitimate (Shari’) concepts and urging to show the righteousness and the command of virtue and reward the one who is pious and forbid the evil, making the Muslim automatically flow to follow the orders of Allah and abstain from his prohibitions. So, he establishes between him and what Allah has forbidden a barrier, not only one month in the year but throughout the entire year.

Taqwa is of the matters requiring determination, not weakness, and it is the foundation of the building, and any construction that it is not built upon it, it is inevitably going to collapse, and its resort is to the fire of Hell and wretched is the resting place: أَفَمَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُ عَلَى تَقْوَى مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوَانٍ خَيْرٌ أَمْ مَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُ عَلَى شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَانْهَارَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ “Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.’” [At-Tawba :109]

Taqwa is the commandment of the Prophet ﷺ to his Ummah. I heard ‘Irbad bin Sariyah say: “One day, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up among us and delivered a deeply moving speech to us that melted our hearts and caused our eyes to overflow with tears. It was said to him: ‘O Messenger of Allah, as if you have delivered a speech of farewell: «أُوصِيكُمْ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ وَالسَّمْعَ وَالطَّاعَةَ وَإِنْ عَبْدًا حَبَشِيًّا مُجَدَّعًا، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ يَعِشْ مِنْكُمْ فَسَيَرَى اخْتِلافًا كَثِيرًا، فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِسُنَّتِي وَسُنَّةِ الْخُلَفَاءِ الرَّاشِدِينَ الْمَهْدِيِّينَ مِنْ بَعْدِي عَضُّوا عَلَيْهَا بِالنَّوَاجِذِ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَمُحْدَثَاتِ الأُمُورِ فَإِنَّ كُلَّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلالَةٌ» “He said: ‘I urge you to fear Allah, and to listen and obey, even if (your leader) is an Abyssinian slave. After I am gone, you will see great conflict. I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah and the path of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, and cling stubbornly to it. And beware of newly-invented matters, for every innovation is a going astray.”
Only when Islam is in power and has sovereignty, Taqwa becomes a concept and is not limited to worship. And the practical application of Islam can only be through Muslims appointing the Imam, the shield, who fears Allah on them and applies the law of Allah to them and restores to the Ummah its prestige and to the state its strength which will fuel Taqwa in the hearts of Muslims and urge them to possess it in their life in this world in fear of Allah’s wrath and in aspiration in his satisfactions.

For too many years, religious address, particularly official address that is approved and allowed in the media, is solely restricted to Dawah in the area of Morals alone and connecting it to all matters. The problem of the Muslims in light of this aspect is identified as the decline in the morals of Muslims. It is claimed that calling for Morals, making it their focal point, will inevitably change their situation. On this basis, several, successive conferences were convened and many books were compiled and distributed for free. All these were done to restore the Islamic Morality and to make it as the basis upon which the Muslim acts. They brought texts and literature calling for the ethics in arts and sciences and even specified it as a course in the universities. They worked to separate morals into religious and worldly. They called for the comparison of moral thoughts in all the other religions, claiming that morals is of the most important shared values of all religions and messages. They utilized every platform for speech regarding the morality and quality of RasulAllah ﷺ, asserting that he ﷺ is a man of good morals and tolerant, whilst his Message was solely for the purpose of perfecting the morals that were already present in the days of Jahiliyah and that Islam came just to give an impetus and divine blessings.

It is to be noted that the call for Morals is being exploited in an exaggerated manner by many regimes, with many platforms being opened for it, whether officially or privately. However, in contrast, it has become mandatory for us to take another look at this approach with critical and comprehensive awareness, particularly when we hear and see many shattering incidents that reveal the continuing, fast decline in the Morals of the Ummah. Our economic problems have worsened, our poverty has increased, our lands are occupied, ignorance and corruption are wide spread in all the aspects, whether morally, administratively, politically or familial. Many of the values have collapsed, Islam has become strange in its homelands and foolish ones (Ruwaibidah) speak on our behalf. All of this is so despite the efforts of those who advocate this moral approach, whether with sincere intention or not. In order to discuss this approach and explain its pros and cons, it is necessary for us to address it in various aspects to remove the obscurity in the mind and correct the conceptions regarding it.

Fairoz al Abadi defined ‘Khulq’ (خُلق Moral) as disposition, innate nature, manhood and religion. The linguists differentiate the word Khulq from Khalq. Allama Raagib Asfahaani says, والخَلْق والخُلْق في الأصل واحد كالشَّرب والشُّرب، والصَّرم والصُّرم، لكن خُصَّ الخَلْق بالهيئات والأشكال والصور المـُدرَكة بالبصر، وخُصَّ الخُلْق بالقوى والسجايا المـُدرَكة بالبصيرة “Khalq and Khulq are similar to the words ‘sharb’ and ‘shurb’ (drinking) and ‘sarm’ and ‘surm’ (abscission). However the word ‘Khalq’ refers to the bodies, shapes and pictures that are perceived by the physical sight, whereas the word ‘Khulq’ refers to the power and disposition that are perceived by insight.” As for the Shariah definition, Khulq is used in the Quran, conventionally which does not contradict much with its linguistic meaning. Khulq comes two times in the Quran. The first verse is ﴿إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ﴾ “This is not but the Khulq of the former peoples” [Ash-Shu’ra:137]. Ibn Abbas, in his Tafsir, refers to Khulq as their religion, customs, morals and school of thoughts. The second verse refers to RasulAllah ﷺ in which it says, ﴿وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ﴾ “Indeed, You are in a great Khulq [Qalam:4]. Imam Tabari, in his tafsir of this ayah, says, “يقول – تعالى ذِكْره – لنبيِّه محمد وإنك يا محمد، لعلى أدب عظيم، وذلك أدب القرآن الذي أدَّبه به، وهو الإسلام وشرائعه، وبنحو الذي قلنا في ذلك قال أهل التأويل” “Allah (swt) reminds here to His Prophet Muhammed ﷺ ‘oh Muhammed, indeed you are in a great manner’, that is the manner of Quran that was imposed by Allah upon him i.e. Islam and its Shariah. This is what we and the scholars of Tafsir say.” It is transferred from Ibn abbas, Mujahid, Ibn Zaid and Dhuhaak in their Tafsir that the verse ﴿خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ﴾ I.e. great Deen.

In the Sunnah, Khulq appears conventionally in various narrations, such that its meaning cannot be restricted. For example, Ayesha (ra) described the Khulq of RasoolAllah ﷺ as, «كان خُلُقه القرآن» “His Khulq is Quran” as was narrated by Ahmad. It was narrated by Muslim that RasulAllah ﷺ said, «البِرُّ حُسْنُ الخُلُق» “Righteousness is good Khulq.”

Istalaahan (اصطلاحًا conventionally), Tahir bin Aashur defined Morals as a sound disposition of the soul, stimulating the action that is appropriate to Good and Evil. It is said that Moral is Husan (حسن Good) and other than it is vile. Sheikh Taqiuddin An-Nabahani defined Morals as one of the constituents of the individual. Morals are amongst the Ahkaam (أحكام Legal Rulings) that regulate the relationship of man within himself, which also include rulings for food and clothing. Since the Shariah elaborates many Legal Rulings and stipulates adherence to them, the Legal Rulings related to Morals are regarded as commands and prohibitions of Allah (swt), without distinguishing any Ahkaam over others. Consequently, the Fuqahaa (فقهاء Jurists) did not make separate chapters in their books regarding Morals, because they considered them as part of Shariah and a part of the commands that are abidance to is obliged. Thus, the realization of Morals in society practically mandates the founding of Islamic emotions and systems.

Islamic society is a human entity that practices distinct lifestyle comprising of thoughts, emotions and systems. The spiritual aspect within the Islamic society is connected to the Islamic Aqeedah in all of its aspects. Islam treated every part of the life of individuals and the Islamic community in order to ensure righteousness in security. For example, Islam treated the issue of poverty by applying all the Ahkam Sharia that regulate wealth in the society. This includes the equal distribution of wealth through Zakah, endowments, prevention of hoarding, linkage of currency with two precious metals and so on. It is the application of these Ahkaam will lead us to a society that is free from poverty and poor people. So, in this case the role of Morals is secondary. Similarly, the issue of oppression is treated with the presence of Shar’i’ judges who judge according to Islam and clarify the issue. Accordingly, RasulAllah ﷺ did not command the begging man to be with good morals. He ﷺ just asked him, «هل في بيتك شيء؟» “Is there anything in your home?” He replied ‘I have a piece of cloth and a bowl.’ RasulAllah ﷺ said, «ائتني بهما» “Bring them to me.” The man brought these articles to him and RasulAllah ﷺ took them and said, «من يشتري هذا؟» “Who will buy these?” One of the Sahaba (ra) said, “I will O Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet ﷺ asked, بكم؟ “How much?” He ﷺ replied, ‘One dirham.’ RasulAllah ﷺ «من يزيد؟» “Who will offer more (than one dirham)?” Another of them said, بدرهمين “I will buy them for two dirham.” RasulAllah ﷺ sold them for two dirham and said to the begging man, «خذ هذين الدرهمين، واشترِ بأحدهما طعامًا لأهلك وبالثاني فأسًا» “Take this two dirham, Buy food with one for your family. Buy an axe with the other.” The man went and did what RasulAllah ﷺ ordered. The man brought an axe to him. RasulAllah ﷺ fixed a handle on it with his own hands and he ﷺ said, «اذهب بهذا الفأس واحتطب به، ولا تأت إلينا إلا بعد خمسة عشر يومًا» “Go gather firewood with this axe and sell it, and do not come to us for fifteen days.” The man went away and gathered firewood and sold it. After fifteen days he brought ten dirham as his earnings.
When a person came to RasulAllah ﷺ complaining about another, he ﷺ judged in favour of oppressed after hearing them both.

When the Jews betrayed the Muslims by assaulting them, he ﷺ did not ask the Muslims to make Duaa, rather he ﷺ mobilized an army, for Islam is submission to Allah (swt) and not to His enemies. When RasulAllah ﷺ was about to die, he ordered the dispatch of the army of Osama… All these show that the best of all in humankind in Morals did deal with matters according to the Revelation and treated each issue with respect to what was obligated of Ahkaam for it. So, where do the people who propose that the Morals are the only solution, stand?! In no circumstances can calling people to Morals solve any of the problems of poverty, oppression or occupation. It is only crooked logic and deficient understanding of Islam, its concepts and its Shariah. Moreover, it is a desperate attempt to restrict Islam and lower it to the same level as the rest of the religions. It is this worldly view of Islam that is actually similar to the secular concept about religion and the role of religion in the life. If such were the case, the Quran would have been limited to single verse and the object of sending RasulAllah ﷺ would have been just to make the nations as moral nations. This is contrary to the fundamental objective of Islam, which is to rescue people from worshiping the creation to worshiping the Creator of the creation.

In order to get further clarity, let us consider some more examples: it is known that some of the advanced western countries seem to be devoid of poor, despite their evil Morals which none would deny like sexual deviation, incest, alcohol and racism. Despite the presence of all these evil acts, we find an absence of poverty. On the other hand, we find poverty a dominant feature in the Muslim countries, even where the people have good Morals, like Sudan and Mauritania. Hence, Morals can never be the factor in establishing the society in terms of its rise or decline. But what is actually influencing the society is general custom. When one of the British travellers visited Jeddah of the Hejaz during the Ottoman period, he was able to learn all the religious matters within a week. This was because the ruler and the people in that region used to deal in their worldly affairs through taking Islam as the sole basis. In contrast, we find the regimes in our lands trying hard to establish a society that is neither purely Islamic nor secular, instead it is a homogeneous mixture of society. They strive hard to disseminate misconceptions with all the means that are available to them. And so the caller to morals is confronted with a tremendous number of people whose thoughts and behaviours have been clouded. When they attempt to address them with a preachy sermons, its effect does not last much after the end of the act of preachy injection. The issue here is so great that it cannot be reduced to Morals alone. It is too great to be restricted to one part of Islam. Yet, it is the issue that must be considered as the crucial issue that determines our objective as an Ummah that carries the Risaalah (رسالة Message) of Islam. This objective cannot be realized without the society whose intellectual leadership is the Islamic Aqeeda in its thoughts, emotions and its system. Accordingly, it is necessary to understand the reality clearly in all of its manifestations, particularly its political aspect. The media and abundant material campaign for this approach proceeds in a path that does not confront falsehood clearly. On the contrary, this approach legitimatizes the falsehood and is silent about it. Using this approach, they blame the people and ignore the regimes that have been imposing upon people oppression and corruption, which is the consequence of applying kufr laws upon them. Indeed, requesting the people to return to Islam and its Aqeeda must be comprehensive. The evidence for this are the many hadiths that link the authority and Istikhlaaf (استخلاف Succession in Authority), with the adherence to the Ahkaam of Allah. RasulAllah ﷺ said, «تركت فيكم أمرين لن تضلوا ما تمسكتم بهما: كتاب الله وسنة نبيه» “I left you two things, if you hold onto them, you will never be misguided: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet” He ﷺ also said, «عليكم بسنتي وسنة الخلفاء الراشدين المهديين، عضّوا عليها بالنواجذ» “Hold fast to my Sunnah and the examples of the Rightly- Guided Caliphs who will come after me. Adhere to them and hold to them fast.” These Legal Rulings were entirely absent and became a legacy of history, according to some. Doubts started to arise about the ability of Islam with respect to the march of time and some consider it as an outdated matter that needs to be replaced. This and other concepts were promoted and found a suitable atmosphere. They were put forward by the people of the Moral approach,
who did not make Islam clear and did not give it its right. They restricted Islam to a narrow vision. The secularists and enemies of Islam used this opportunity to spread their poisonous thoughts, upon the basis of the struggle between Truth and Falsehood. Indeed, the continuity in this address is a commitment to mislead the Ummah and spread among within her frustration, particularly in the presence and intensification of horrific corruption.

There is no doubt that any reformist thought that adopts a reformation project and seeks to move the people from one condition to another with this reformation, cannot have impact among the people until this thought is adopted by a party that believes in this thought and carries it to the people, in order to persuade them to carry its thought and work with it. This is one of the sunnah (norms) of the life. The nature of the Ummah as a political entity leads us to say that the political nature of the society makes political action mandatory for change. This is because only the political vision carries a comprehensive project and apolitical parties cannot carry such a project. Such a political party seeks to shape the society with a specific system, with all of its legislations and laws. And it is inevitable that those who carry this ideological reformist thought will collide with the ruling class, because the goal is to change the society which is ruled by the regime whose legislation and thoughts are not from the ideology. So, whoever proposes an alternative to this system will inevitably clash with the regime. Thus the political action for radical change is not acceptable within the people, even though they know that it is correct. This is the reason why political parties are the most oppressed by the ruling class. These parties propose an alternative political project with all the laws and affairs that completely threaten the existence of the current regimes. This is contrast to the rest of the groups who work in diverse frameworks, such as the civil society and Morals groups. This is why the regimes in the Muslim countries allow the ones who adopt the Morals approach, support them and open the arena for them. This provides the regimes credibility of the Muslims, especially when the Muslims see the rulers receiving the Ulema and holding meetings with them. This is their misguidance. Indeed, Islam is comprehensive and bears fruit when it is implemented comprehensively in the Islamic society. Thus the individual is shaped with the general customs that are founded by the systems, thoughts and emotions which the ruler is obliged to apply and spread in the society.

In conclusion, the deviation from the Islamic Ideology in thought and Tareeqah (طريقة Methodology) is the only reason for the weakness and humiliation. It is the Sunnah of Allah (swt) that He will not grant the authority to the Muslims in the way He allows authority to the Kuffar. The Muslims will be given authority only when they establish the Islamic Method. It is true that Islam is both a spiritual and a political Aqeedah (عقيدة Creed) i.e. Islam is the intellectual system that regulates the relationships of the society in terms of ruling economy, education and foreign policy, whose source is solely the Islamic Creed. It is this that inevitably leads to the specific, determined model of life that is truly a correct revival.

A former gubernatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Dr Muhammad Sani-Bello, has formally joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
DAILY POST had reported that Sani-Bello dumped the PDP on November 12 due to what he described as unending mistrust between him and the state leadership of the party, and its governorship candidate, Alhaji Isa Ashiru.

He had said the mistrust emanated from the refusal of party leaders in the state to put into writing the terms of consensus which led to his stepping down for Ashiru prior to the party’s gubernatorial primaries.

However, Sani-Bello announced his decision to join the APC at a news conference on Saturday in Kaduna.

According to NAN, Bello said he consulted with different political parties before arriving at the decision to join the APC.

He said he had consulted with APC in his Dogarawa Ward in Sabon Gari Local Government Area, as well as major party stakeholders at state and national level before joining it.

The politician said he had met with Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai and extensively discussed on various issues before finally announcing his defection to the ruling party.
He expressed optimism that more PDP aspirants and their supporters would soon join the APC.

Nigeria, Uganda and Morocco qualified for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Saturday while Libya scored eight goals to keep alive hopes of also featuring at the finals.
Nigeria drew 1-1 with South Africa in Soweto, Uganda edged Cape Verde 1-0 in Kampala and Morocco went through after rivals Malawi lost 2-1 in the Comoros.
Libya triumphed 8-1 in the Seychelles and host South Africa next March needing a win to accompany Nigeria from Group E.

The Libyans just missed equalling the record away winning margin for a Cup of Nations qualifier held by Ghana, who won 9-1 in Niger 49 years ago.
A total of eight nations have secured places at the 24-team finals with hosts Cameroon, Madagascar, Senegal, Egypt and Tunisia securing places before this weekend.

Nigeria, the three-time former champions who had failed to qualify for the last two editions, were ahead in South Africa within nine minutes when Buhle Mkhwanazi conceded an own-goal.

Outstanding South African Percy Tau set up the equaliser for Lebo Mothiba on 26 minutes, but the hosts were fortunate as several contentious offside decisions went against Nigeria.

Anis Saltou bagged a hat-trick in Victoria as Libya humiliated the Seychelles, whose 188th world ranking is the lowest among the 48 teams in the qualifying competition.

A Patrick Kaddu goal on 79 minutes not only assured Uganda of first place in Group K, it also opened the door for Tanzania to also qualify.

If the Tanzanians win in Lesotho on Sunday they will return to the African football showcase after a 38-year absence.

Morocco qualified when Group B rivals Malawi lost 2-1 away to out-of-contention Comoros in Mitsamiouli.

The Comoran victory in the Indian Ocean island state gave Morocco an unassailable six-point advantage over Malawi with only one matchday left.

El Fardou Mohamed Ben Nabouhane, who has been playing for Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Champions League, gave the Comoros a second-minute lead.
Patrick Phiri equalised after 53 minutes and Nasser Chamed scored the match-winner in the 70th minute on an artificial pitch.

Leaders Morocco and second-placed Cameroon qualify from the group with the latter assured of a place because they are hosting the June 15-July 13 tournament.

Cameroon are involved in the qualifying competition to gain match practice before defending a title they won in Gabon last year by defeating Egypt 2-1 in the final.

Morocco climbed above Cameroon into first place in Group B Friday after beating them 2-0 in Casablanca thanks to a second-half brace from Hakim Ziyech.

Although consistently among the strongest African national teams, Morocco have won the Cup of Nations only once, in 1976 in Ethiopia when the tournament was a series of mini-leagues.

(FILES) In this file photo taken on December 15, 2014, general manager of Alarab TV, Jamal Khashoggi, looks on during a press conference in the Bahraini capital Manama. – US President Donald Trump said October 11, 2018 he was not yet prepared to limit arms sales to Saudi Arabia over journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s disappearance, but he faced mounting pressure from concerned American lawmakers. Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s largest arms purchasers, with most of them coming from the United States.Khashoggi, a contributor to The Washington Post, vanished more than a week ago during a visit to the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Turkish government sources say he was murdered there, a claim Riyadh denies. (Photo by MOHAMMED AL-SHAIKH / AFP)

Vice-president Mike Pence vowed Saturday the US would hold the murderers of Jamal Khashoggi to account, following media reports that the CIA had concluded the Saudi Crown Prince was behind the journalist’s killing.

“The United States is determined to hold all of those accountable who are responsible for that murder,” Pence said on the sidelines of an APEC summit in Papua New Guinea.

Pence described the Saudi journalist’s killing as an “atrocity” and an “affront to a free and independent press” but declined to comment on classified information.
The vice-president’s comments come after reports that the CIA believed the powerful Mohammed bin Salman was involved in the plot to murder the journalist.
If confirmed, the US assessment would directly contradict the conclusions of a Saudi prosecutor a day earlier, which exonerated the prince of involvement in the brutal murder.

And it would threaten to further fray relations between Washington and key ally Riyadh, which has sought to end discussion of the murder and rejected calls for an international investigation.

“We are going to follow the facts,” said Pence.

But he also added the US wanted to find a way of preserving a “strong and historic partnership” with Saudi Arabia.
